Life in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. B.M.A.T.C., and Etruscan typewriter erasers. Blogged by David Gorsline.
We have two, perhaps three Wood Duck nests still going as of Sunday, so we're in for waders in mid-June. I hope it stays as cool as it has been.
A Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus) has taken over one of the boxes, and we have another nest that could be of a Great Crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus crinitus).

Today's entry could be titled, "Adventures in Intermodal Transportation."
Leta's knee was uncooperative this morning, thus she was a bit leery about driving. So I drove her in her car home to Aspen Hill. I then caught a 26 Ride-On bus to Glenmont and took the subway to Vienna. I got in a cab at the taxi stand there and got to work at lunchtime.
In the evening I took a 403 Fairfax Connector back to Dunn Loring station, rode one stop back into town and then took a 551 out to Reston. It dropped me on South Lakes Drive a quarter mile from my front door, more than an hour after I'd left work.
