Amazon.com is quietly rolling out word count statistics on its volumes for sale. Here's a list of the 100 most common words (which A.c calls a concordance) to appear in Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves:

again almost alone already always another away come course day de does door down else end enough even ever eyes face fact far few film finally find first get go going gone got hallway hand head holloway hours however jed karen keep know last later least left let light little long look lude man matter may maybe mean minutes navidson new night nothing now old own place press really record reston right room said say second see seems should something sound still story take tell thing think though thought three time tom two wall water wax without words xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx years

At A.c, the most common words appear in larger type, à la Flickr; I've bolded the top three.
