Life in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. B.M.A.T.C., and Etruscan typewriter erasers. Blogged by David Gorsline.
I received word from my uncle Paul that my grandmother, Marion McCarty, had died on Saturday. She was 97.
We weren't particularly close: the only time that we met, I was a baby. But we spoke on the telephone a few years ago, and she made it clear to me then that I was part of my father's family. So I will miss her.
