Life in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. B.M.A.T.C., and Etruscan typewriter erasers. Blogged by David Gorsline.
Longish article from the Guardian on radically innovative
wind turbine designs.
The Aerogenerator has a vertical axis of rotation, a characteristic it
shares with another Darrieus turbine-derived design, the
Gorlov turbine for hydro applications.

I got 12 out of 15 on the (Manhattan-centric) New York
subways quiz, better than I thought I would. I stumbled over a couple
of the navigation questions.

This is something my mom could use: a Wikipedia article listing movies in
which a certain
four-letter Anglo-Saxonism is used, in order of frequency. David
Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross is nowhere near the top; it's back in the
pack, between the South Park movie and The Blair Witch Project (?!).
