Life in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. B.M.A.T.C., and Etruscan typewriter erasers. Blogged by David Gorsline.
So I'm cramming the words for scene 4 at Wendy's before rehearsal, thinking that we're going to work that and scene 5. But Stan was there, sort of unscheduledly, so we worked 5 and 6.
I got a bit of a rush working on 6. This is the first scene where Austin gets really animated: he spends most of the scene alternately attacking Saul and sulking. I'm sort of prowling around within a prescribed area stage right, my blocking is sort of all over the map right now. The vocal dynamics are nice and wide. I'm ranging from about a 3 to a 7, and I need to maybe notch it up to an 8. After running the scene about three times, I could feel the strain on my throat.

A measured, alarming opinion piece by Margaret Atwood from the Globe and Mail. I know that the past two and a half years have been disgraceful, but it's all the more shocking to hear someone else pointing this out. (Thanks to ArtsJournal.)
